Receive free resource kits (engineering-themed STEM packs) to use with your classes.
Enhance the provision of STEM learning in your school.
A chance to share good practice and work with each other teachers.
Plus
Access to engineering careers resources, grant and funding opportunities.
Activities which support teacher assessments and coursework in STEM subjects.

Improve the perception of STEM subjects with under-represented group.
We are going to offer an online option for those people who are geographically widely spread.
I am planning some fresh pizza to be delivered and for hot drinks to be available.
The resource for this term: This is Engineering: Water
This STEM resource explores the essential role that engineers play in water and sustainability. Through a series of creative and collaborative challenges, students will develop enquiring minds and team working skills and will be encouraged to find imaginative approaches to problem solving, understanding the role STEM based learning plays in real world engineering scenarios.
Activities and challenges range from creating their own bioplastic, designing flood defence mechanisms, investigating what bacteria are getting into our water systems and generating energy from water.
The resource will include a teacher guide, student guides and a class set of materials to carry out the activities in the booklet.
Alongside the resource, we will be launching 'Sustainable Futures:Innovation Challenge’ for the second year. The challenge will ask students from ages 9-15 to come up with creative solutions to tackle some of the biggest problems that are creating carbon emissions and impacting our environment.
Registration is through STEM Learning and there is no charge for attending or to receive the resource packs.
If you are unable to attend, any STEM related teacher from your school can attend to receive the training and resources.
Many thanks and looking forward to seeing you.
Dr Gaynor Sharp, Teacher Co-ordinator for Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull
