Summary
A face to face opportunity to engage with others around effective demonstrations and practical work in Science classrooms. The afternoon will be practical based, giving you hands-on time to practice the techniques for common ‘dangerous demos’ and develop your delivery of them in the classroom to maximise engagement and student learning.
As participants on the course, there is flexibility to request (pre course date) the inclusion of demonstrations that you wish to practice and gain advice on; alongside pre-planned ones including screaming jelly baby, Van de Graff generator and the whoosh bottle.

- Increased confidence showing ‘dangerous demos’ to students.
- Developing/embedding knowledge of curriculum links for common demonstrations.
- Increased confidence in ways to increase student engagement in demonstration only activities.
- Developing understanding of health and safety in demonstrations and practical work.
