Improving Secondary Science online course - an in-depth look at the EEF seven recommendations RC298 / B139
Summary
‘The attainment gap in science may not be as well-documented as the gap in English and maths but it is just as pervasive.’ Kevan Collins
St Matthew’s Research School are delighted to collaborate with the Science Learning Partnership to introduce what robust research tells us about the most effective ways to close the attainment gap.
Based on the EEF report, Improving Secondary Science, this training will explore what is most likely to have a positive impact and exemplify how that might look in practice.
Chris Catto, Central Midlands Science Learning Partnership Lead and ELE for St Matthew’s Research School will unpick the seven recommendations from the EEF guidance and give additional support on effective implementation.
Please note we have a limited number of Teacher Release Payments of £75 available to offset the cost of the training. To apply for one please email slp@bishopchalloner.bham.sch.uk. These are available for state-funded schools only.
By signing up you are agreeing to us sharing your name and school with St Matthew's Research School for their tracking purposes.

If anyone understands the importance of evidence, it’s science teachers. There is no shortage of research evidence about good science teaching, but few teachers have time to read it and it can be difficult to unpick the implications for classroom practice.’ Sir John Holman, University of York
