Summary

This is an intense 2 day course for those who are teaching KS5 chemistry for the first time, and for those who are looking for some new ideas to tackle the most common misconceptions and to get the most out of practical work. Over the 2 days you will focus on the core topics, common misconceptions and how to best overcome these. While enhancing subject knowledge, the best pedagogical strategies and resources to maximise student outcomes will be shared.  Mathematical skills and practical skills will be embedded throughout the course to allow students of all abilities to succeed. A gap task will provide teachers with an opportunity to consolidate their learning from day 1.
