Summary

Primary Science Moderation - pilot scheme

 

1. Delivery of training session 1 to yr 6 teachers and science leads

- the science moderation training and process

- know what to look for

- how to plan for it

examples of evidence

- examples of learning activities to generate evidence

- time to action plan

2. Have a go

- recap and review progress from last session

- examples of EXS and WTS for delegates to discuss and work through collaboratively - supported and challenged by facilitators

- what have we learned / what does this mean in classes and moving forward - update action plans

3. Cross cluster moderation session

- delegates to bring examples of work from their own classes / schools which they have assessed as EXS or WTS.

- in teams other delegates, supported by facilitators, discuss the judgements made.

4. Moderation opportunities either 16th June or 24th June.

- Bookable slots, based in 4 hubs with 2 facilitators at each session (for QA purposes).

- schools to bring a max of 4 collections of pupils work with their judgement for moderation.

- any unresolved moderations to be QA by partner facilitator
