SKE Chemistry KS4 - Reversible reactions and Equilibria RM298 / B84
Summary
A misconception possibly encouraged at KS3 is that physical changes are reversible while chemical changes are not. This session will begin with simple practical examples to convince students that chemical reactions can be reversed.
From there the idea of reversible reactions leading to dynamic equilibrium is introduced. This is a difficult idea for students and a variety of models will be shared that illustrate the concept. You will be able to use and explain changes in equilibria using Le Chatelier’s Principle and apply these ideas to important chemical reactions.
