Summary
Our primary conferences always provide outstanding learning opportunities linked to topical developments in primary science teaching along side time to talk and share ideas with other primary practitioners.
This annual event is delivered in collaboration with Shropshire Local Authority, University Centre Shrewsbury, Warrington Association of Primary Headteachers and Science Learning Partnerships North Midlands, Central Midlands and Cheshire and Wirral.
Following on from last March’s inaugural Leading Primary STEM conference we are delighted to be joined this year by Dr Lynne Bianchi who as one of the authors will explore the implications of the report “The 10 Key Issues with Children’s Learning in Primary Science in England”.
10 Key Issues with Children’s Learning in Primary Science in England
What does the monitoring of science in your school tell you? What guides your action plans and strategy to improve teaching and learning of science? Hear about the latest 10 key issues that report on what is common in other schools, to inspire you to think about how could your children have an even better science learning experience.
The learning from the issues addressed will also be applicable across the STEM subjects more generally.

Outcomes:
- To have explored the implications of the 10 Key issues with Children’s learning in Primary Science and how this relates to the Ofsted research and your STEM curriculum
- To have engaged with research and strategies to ensure effective curriculum planning and development including substantive and disciplinary knowledge in Science as described by Ofsted
- To explore aspects of curriculum development to support strong progression and raising aspirations for all learners including reading, practical work and STEM careers
- To evaluate the implications of challenge and ambition for all in your STEM curriculum provision
