Online Primary Science Festival - Sharing Climate Science Research Projects with Primary Children RH124 / D24
Summary
Facilitator: Dr Alison Trew
Workshop Topic: Sharing Climate Science Research Projects with Primary Children
Climate science research projects can be linked to the primary science curriculum and shared with primary children. In this session we will look at the PSTT’s I bet you didn’t know... resources that focus on climate science research. We will review some articles and Teacher Guides. These explain what climate scientists have done in language that children can understand, suggest questions for children and teachers to consider in the classroom, and describe investigations that children can do to mirror the research. This resource helps children feel like scientists themselves whilst developing their understanding of climate science issues.
This workshop is part of the East of England Online Primary Science Festival which runs from Monday 31st January until Thursday 03rd February 2022. All sessions will run from 4-5pm on Zoom.
