Summary

This course will provide you with the opportunity to understand the benefits to learners of early engagement in Computer Science through play-based approaches. A variety of computer science resources will be provided for you to use alongside the course and thereafter.Through practical hands on experiential professional learning, we will consider the impact of unplugged activities and outdoor learning, as well as how we can use apps and websites to further develop skills and understanding. We will also consider how these activities might be adapted to encourage interdisciplinary learning (IDL) and look at other online resources to further support engagement.Through completion of the course delegates will be able to be able to plan, implement and evaluate play-based learning experiences for learners, using resources provided, as well as enhancing learner experiences through introducing unplugged and outdoor learning to promote computer science outcomes.
