Summary

Feel confident in your first term of teaching by learning how to plan effective and engaging science lessons.We will provide support to help you to understand the requirements of the primary science curriculum, improve your subject knowledge and give you the tools you need to plan and teach excellent science lessons.Spend two days at the National STEM Centre in York, creating links with teachers across England. Then enjoy five hours of remote learning which is tailored to you to give you the best support for the start of your career.

Bursary support is available so if you have a position lined up from September 2022 you can enter the school information into the bursary calculator to check the level of bursary available to you.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • create a stimulating learning environment to support children’s learning, with the development of science enquiry skills at the heart
  • use highly effective strategies for teaching and learning in primary science, in areas such as assessment, behaviour and resource management
  • produce an action plan to implement and evaluate your learning journey
