Practical Solutions to Everyday Pupil Behaviours with Jason Bangbala RK198 / A15

Summary

The bottom line is that pupil behaviour in schools is a concern. In the report by Dr Joanna Williams, It Just Grinds You Down, it stated that:
  • 75% teachers said they had to deal frequently with low level disruption in their lessons
  • 72% teachers knew a colleague that had left the profession due to poor pupil behaviour
These findings supported OFSTED’s previous observations which stated that:
  • Pupils lose at least 1 hour a day and 38 days within the academic year due to disruption in lessons
  • Having a calm and orderly environment in some classes in some schools was a lottery
During this interactive, down to earth and realistic ‘warts and all’ session, delegates will be provided with bespoke, specific, practical strategies that they can put back into their teaching the very next day.
These strategies will enable delegates to de-escalate and diffuse any inappropriate behaviour quickly, effectively and non-confrontationally. The practical strategies will also enable delegates to prevent any inappropriate behaviour to occur in the first place and create a positive climate for learning.
Jason Bangbala has worked in nearly every educational setting involving young people from prisons to primary schools to the football Premier League. The session is therefore appropriate for all teachers working with pupils of all ages and in all educational settings.
