Practical science including effective Health and Safety for Teach First ITT trainees NB207 / F20
Summary
Planning and delivering effective practical science can be a challenge. This series of three one-hour sessions will look at common practical apparatus and techniques within the three sciences. Through demonstration of a variety of different practical activities, enquires and practical assessment, participants will be able to develop their own skills in the practical classroom. Health and safety is a key component to planning practical work, and we will explore how to minimise the risk, fulfil legal obligations with risk assessment and how to train students in key aspects they will use in their lives beyond science. In addition, we will look at how to respond to incidents in the lab, to better prepare you for delivering safe, engaging and exciting science practicals.

Participants will be able to:
- Explore a range of practical activities across the three sciences
