Summary
Are you teaching KS5 biology for the first time? Perhaps you have been teaching it for a few years and are now looking for some new ideas to tackle the most common misconceptions and to get the most out of practical work? This course will improve your confidence in the subject and help you maximise the outcomes for your students. You will also develop activities to help you maximise student’s practical and mathematical skills.
Outcomes
- You will gain a knowledge of what the new framework and the "deep dives" will look like in your own school setting
- Develop an awareness of effective strategies to support the new framework with colleagues in outreach work
- Opportunity to network with colleagues in a similar role across both primary and secondary phases
- We will also have the opportunity to discuss the challenges of being a science SLE trying to support collegues during the pandemic
