Themes explored; Pedagogy and Enrichment & Digital
This session will enable STEM Ambassadors and Teachers to find out more about this fantastic resource that links STEM to Literacy and Numeracy, using traditional tales to undertake fun hands-on Design, Technology and Science activities.
The STEM Sessions are suitable for Early Years all the way through to KS3 depending on how the activity is differentiated in school. The book itself contains 8 activities that can be undertaken in a whole-class setting over a term or could provide x8 week’s work of STEM Club activity and links STEM and Skills to challenges within traditional tales. Each activity also looks at stereotypes and confronts issues around what engineers do all day and what do they look like. You will receive a copy of our Engineering Fairy Tales book and then be taken through the context of STEM skills and Engineering mind-sets before learning how to deliver this resource in class or via a STEM club.
