Developing your skills as a tutor of science and mathematics NR207 / A20
Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19). The aggregate impact of lost time in education will be substantial so it is likely that disadvantaged and vulnerable groups will have been hardest hit. That is why the government have launched a National Tutoring Programme to provide additional, targeted support for those children and young people who need the most help.
In response we have designed a course aimed at new and existing secondary science and mathematics tutors that will support students to develop long term and deep understanding of these two core subjects. Based on academic research, the course centres on eight principles of good teaching exemplified using quality science and mathematics resources.
