Summary
This session will look at the knowledge rich and skill based science curriculum and the different strategies that are involved in teaching these two aspects of science alongside each other. The course will look at the ‘Big Ideas’ in science and how they can be used to design your school based science curriculum. It will also identify the common misconceptions in Science and how the role of modelling and dual coding can assist in teaching the abstract and more complicated scientific ideas.
