Practical ideas for teaching biology: year 1 to year 6 NY067 / A20
Classifying, exploring habitats, understanding human biology, all apsects of plants and much more are explored in this practical subject knowledge based course. We have partnered with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to develop the plants aspects of this course and this will be delivered by Rachel Godfrey, who works on their Campaign for School Gardening project.

What topics are covered?
This course covers:
⚪ the big ideas within the biology curriculum
⚪ animals, life cycles, habitats, classification and ecosystems
⚪ plans - including using the outdoor classroom
⚪ humans; the circulatory system, skeletons, muscles, digestion and teeth
⚪ evolution and inheritance
How long is the course?
2 days face-to-face teaching and 5 hours of remote CPD delivered over 2 remotely delivered twilight sessions.
