Paying Attention:  Attention has been described as the Holy Grail of teaching. Teachers must be able to channel and capture students’ attention. In this session Dom will define what attention is and explain why it is important. He will use lessons from cognitive science like the working memory model and cognitive load theory to demonstrate how a teacher can focus a student’s attention in the classroom.

Dom Shibli is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire and leads the Secondary Science PGCE course.

NOTE: This webinar is included in the CPD subscription package and NQT subscription package.  The funding for Triple Science schools and Enthuse partnerships can be used to cover this fee.
