Summary
Get ready for teaching computer science GCSE.
This summer school is aimed at those who are new to teaching the subject; who may have some experience of KS3 computing; or who wish to strengthen their essential subject knowledge.
Over a period of 4 days you will develop your GCSE Computer Science subject knowledge leading towards recognised certification. You'll be supported along the way by experienced teaching professionals, among a group of your peers. You'll participate in face-to-face CPD and optional, mentored, online CPD.
You'll take-away ready-to-use and successful teaching approaches from experienced teachers, supported by the latest research and evidence.
In optional evening sessions you'll discuss classroom practice and pedagogy, and find out how to enrich the computing curriculum. You'll benefit from a supportive, sociable atmosphere and will build your professional learning network throughout the summer school and beyond.
A bursary is available upon completion of the CS Accelerator programme - for information see this page. An additional bursary is available, up to £880, provided you complete all required sessions.
