The topic for this meeting will be Scientific Vocabulary

In her 2018/19 Annual Report Amanda Spielman (The Chief Ofsted inspector) noted, "Little consideration was given to developing scientific concepts and skills and the vocabulary that comes with being taught science."  This network meeting will focus on developing pupils' scientific vocabulary.

Outcomes

You will:

  •   have an increased awareness of when and how to use key technical scientific vocabulary for each year group to ensure children build up an extensive scientific vocabulary.
  •   consider and plan ways to embed this scientific vocabulary in lessons.
