Transition teach meet - North West region RA219 / A24
Summary
So much is different in education this year - including transition to secondary school. Since lock-down, engagement with learning has been variable - for whatever reason. The traditional experience of visiting secondary school and taking part in subject taster sessions and team-building is not possible currently.
So – how can we support the current Y6 as they make this transition and what might Y7 science look like in September? Join us and hear teachers from a number of schools talk about what they are doing. Get ideas from the region’s STEM ambassador Hubs on how they can help.
This session is for Year 6 teachers, KS3 teachers or anyone with an interest in transition from the North West region.
Outcomes
You will be able to:
- Reflect on what transition activities might be possible this year
- Find out what resources are available to support science/STEM activities for Y6/7
- Consider what an introduction to science might be like for incoming Y7
