How should our Science curriculum be adjusted following school closures? RM298 / A07
Summary
Schools have faced a unique set of challenges, and these don’t end as an increased number of students return to face to face teaching.
Schools and departments have faced a disrupted period, with little time to plan ahead. This session brings together a panel of curriculum experts and Heads of Science to discuss the challenges they are facing in planning the best possible curriculum for next year. They will share their own thoughts and ideas as well as hear contributions and answer questions from participants.
Confirmed on the panel:
· Helen Harden: Curriculum specialist for University of York Science Education Group BEST project
· Dr Andrew Chandler-Grevatt: Senior Lecturer in Science Education, Brighton University. Assessment Editor for OUP
· Euan Douglas: Head of Science, Saint George Catholic College and Lead for Hampshire & Isle of Wight SLP
· Elliot Ammar: Head of Science, Farnborough 6th Form College
This session will the first part of a programme of support on offer through the Science Learning Partnership for Science NQTs and their mentors, including a series of online and face to face networking sessions and a one-day conference (dates and venues to be confirmed).
