Aspire to STEM Science - Fundamental Ideas in Chemistry *Invitation Only* AB700 / B16
This course will help you to give your students a thorough grounding in the basics of chemistry. The course is aimed at non-specialist teachers or science teachers teaching outside of their specialism; it will provide you with the knowledge and pedagogical skills to teach the fundamentals of chemistry well and avoid reinforcing misconceptions. In particular the course will focus on the teaching of two fundamental concepts: atomic structure and bonding.
1. Improve your knowledge of two key areas of chemistry: atomic structure and bonding
2. Develop your pedagogical skills to teach atomic structure and bonding
3. Increase your awareness of possible misconceptions and how to tackle these with your students
