Teaching key stage 3 chemistry will develop your pedagogical and subject knowledge with a focus on the key principles needed to teach science effectively through the use of stimulating practical activities and demonstrations.

- scientists who are not chemistry specialists or with limited experience delivering key stage 3 chemistry
What topics will be covered?
We will explore and refine the understanding of key topics like particle theory, chemical reactions and Earth science
Who are the course leaders?
Tim Bradbury: Secondary chemistry professional development leader at the National STEM Centre. Former teacher of chemistry covering key stages 3-5, experienced head of science and assistant head teacher with responsibility for learning & teaching and health & safety.
Mark Langley: Science CPD Lead at the National STEM Learning Centre in York. Mark’s background is chemistry and physics secondary teaching, as well as having been a head of science.
This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.
