Summary

Manipulatives: counters, interlocking cubes, Cuisenaire rods, tiles, multi-base blocks etc. have long been used to aid understanding in primary mathematics.

Join us to consider the support available from the National STEM Centre when developing the use of manipulatives to enhance understanding in mathematics at key stage three.

The day is suitable for teachers of mathematics in secondary school, and will include hands-on sessions exploring how a variety of mathematics equipment can be incorporated into lessons and linked to resources found on the National STEM Centre eLibrary.

This is a 1 day course and fees include meals and refreshments for the duration of the day. Course fees vary for participants outside the UK. Please contact enquiries@stem.org.uk for more information.
