Summary

Biodiversity is one of the main areas of cutting edge research as the impact of climate change is affecting life on our planet. Biodiversity is the term given to the variety of life on Earth. It is the variety within and between all species of plants, animals and micro-organisms and the ecosystems within which they live and interact.
This is a wide overarching topic that crosses over with taxonomy/classification, genomics, ecology, sampling techniques, invasive species, conservation, evolution, bioinformatics, epidemiology, genetic engineering and genetically modified foods, climate change, the impact of humans, modelling and global sustainability.
It is an excellent topic to discuss the social, moral and ethical issues in relation to the impact of humans on the biodiversity of the planet.
