Strengthening required practical work in the new science GCSE RH298 / H01
Summary
The aim of this course is to enable teachers to consider the teaching and learning implications of how practical skills are being assessed in the new Science GCSE. There will be opportunities to gain hands on experience of the required practical’s, to discuss practical considerations and differentiation with regard to incorporating the required practical’s into lessons, to explore how the style of questioning linked to practical skills in the new GCSE reflects assessment objectives, to develop teaching ideas and classroom strategies to ensure that all learners are well prepared for practical assessment and to consider best approaches in contemporaneous recording and feedback of practical work. All schools are welcome to attend this meeting.
