Microscopy techniques HC507 / F02
Summary
The aim of this course is to provide an introductory hands-on guide to Bright-field Microscopy, Fluorescence Microscopy and Confocal Microscopy. This will include a brief description of the position and function of the various working parts of each type of microscope and how these can be used to optimise image formation. Course participants will have supervised access to each type of microscope and will be guided on capturing images.
Time permitting, participants may also have a guided tour of a working Histology Laboratory and will see a demonstration of wax-embedded tissue sectioning and section staining.
