Disruptive technology is changing the landscape of design, engineering and manufacturing.

How ready are your students for the future of design and making?

Autodesk and STEM Learning are working together to be disruptive in the classroom through a new Autodesk design school. Four days of CPD, split across two venues, exploring digital design and manufacturing tools and supporting you to increase your subject knowledge in areas such as user centred design and designing for industry.

This a residential course (York part only), fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.

What will the Autodesk design school include?

Part 1:

three day residential event at the National STEM Learning Centre, York:

• working with Autodesk education specialists to develop your ‘Mindset’ to design, prototype and manufacture
• develop your Future of Making ‘skillset’, exploring a range of digital and non-digital tools, including Fusion 360
• Fusion 360. (Including techniques such as parametric modelling, sculpting, rendering, simulation and connecting to a 3D printer.)
• exploring how digital design can have a positive impact in student outcomes and provide a good link to collaboration with industry and design careers
• investigating human centred design and gaining ideas for how it can be applied in the classroom to enhance designing
• looking at how iterative design processes can be followed using digital tools and ways in which student progress can be quickly captured

Part 2:

1 day follow-up event at the Autodesk offices, London, (venue to be confirmed)

• working collaboratively as a group of education specialists to improve the Future of Learning for your students

To participate in the Autodesk design school you must have access to Fusion 360 or be in the process of installing Fusion 360 onto your school network.

Please note: whilst the learning content in this course is different to the recent 3 day Fusion 360 STEM Learning CPD programme, some of the Fusion 360 skills taught will have been covered.
