Teacher subject specialism training (TSST): Physics - 2017/18 Cohort RB299 / G04
Summary
Delivered by schools, approved and funded by the DfE, TSST programmes are free to participants and ours takes place throughout the course of the year.
Physics TSST Courses aim to improve the physics subject knowledge of:
- established teachers who are new to teaching physics
- NQTs that do not have a specialism in physics
- teachers returning to teaching physics
A series of 8 workshops devised to focus on the key topics in physics, with a bespoke series of differentiated approaches to meet individual needs and gap tasks to ensure maximum impact in the classroom.
Now in its third year of delivering this course, Northern Lights TSA is delighted to continue to offer this opportunity to participants as a series whole day and afternoon sessions.
Participants will be guided through a sequence of lessons led by leading Educational Consultant and former Head of Science, Andrea Mapplebeck.
This course has been community approved by the IoP and exceeds the minimum specification outlined by the National College of Teaching and Learning. We have worked with our partners at Sheffield Hallam University to design this engaging course.
In addition, with over 10 years experience as part of the Science Learning Partnership we will use the Impact Toolkit throughout the course to ensure maximum benefit for you, your pupils and your school. We will also support you in completing the Nationally Accredited STEM educators scheme through this course.
