Summary

The Fusion 360 teacher and technician accredited training programme will take you from absolute CAD beginner, to accredited teacher in 4 months. With 3 days of CPD, plus supporting tasks to do in your own time, you will learn how to design, sculpt, render, create engineering drawings, run simulations, and prepare products for manufacture in 3D on a CNC machine or 3D printer.

After completion of the course, you will be able to design your own product from idea to prototype, have the confidence to introduce Fusion into the classroom, gain access to a range of resources to support teaching Fusion 360 with your students and if you pass the final day exam, earn the qualification of Autodesk Certified User. As an Autodesk Certified User you will have the certified skills necessary to deliver high-quality computer aided design (CAD) education to students across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Fusion 360 has a free educational licence and can be used at both home and school, allowing students to work on their designs in their own time. It also allows students to collaborate on designs, with shared access provided to files, through cloud based storage.

The Fusion 360 teacher and technician accredited training programme consist of three elements:

Day 1:

An introduction to using Fusion 360 and the Future of Making Things.

Experience of the computer aided design process, basic tools and creating simple shapes and parts.

Day 2:

Designing mechanical parts and use of solid modelling tools. Creating mechanical assemblies and animations. Creating simple simulations, testing parts and materials.

Day 3:

Learn how to collaborate with other users and see how this can be managed in the classroom. Find out how Fusion 360 can be used to export designs direct to 3D printers and CNC machines. The final part of day 3 will prepare you for the Autodesk Certified User exam.

Important: To access this training programme, you will need to bring your own laptop with Fusion 360 installed. We are unable to provide laptops for participants.
