Advanced technician skills NY631 / A17
Summary
Technicians need a huge range of skills and a wealth of knowledge about practical techniques. Building on the work we do with new technicians we have designed this course as a refresher and an opportunity to develop your technical skills further. Over three days, we will take you through sessions designed to build practical skills and make the technical service more effective and efficient in preparing practical work.
We will cover areas such as glass working, making up and analysing your solutions, difficult solutions and chemicals, hard to prepare biology and physics practicals, making equipment and putting it away, hints, tips, repairs and organising your prep room.
Outcomes
You will be able to:
- develop your technical skills
- explore ways to develop the technical service
- design and build cost saving equipment
- repair and maintain science equipment
