Royal Academy of Engineering - Winning Medals RA711 / A01
Chris Wallis is a teacher of physics with 20 years of experience in the classroom. He is the Teacher Coordinator for the Royal Academy of Engineering’s connecting STEM teachers programme in the Preston region. The project aims to create a national network of support for teachers across all STEM subjects, ensuring they have the knowledge and confidence to engage a greater number and wider spectrum of school students with STEM.
Chris will lead this session. He will introduce one of resource boxes produced after much consultation with teachers and industry experts. The boxes aim to engage students with the role the STEM subjects play in modern technology. There will also be the opportunity to meet other STEM teachers from local schools, share issues and ideas and discuss how a local STEM network might look in the future.
You will be able to:
- plan and lead the sessions described in the Winning Medals resource box
- take away, to use and keep, one of the Royal Academy of Engineering Winning Medals resource boxes
- network with other STEM teachers in your area and share good practice
