Summary

Are you new to teaching A level Biology? Do you have sound subject knowledge but want to strengthen your delivery to provide a stimulating and challenging learning experience for your students?

Biology is a fast changing subject which involves the teaching of ethically sensitive subjects. Through the development of new practical techniques, use of ICT activities and context based learning strategies this course will provide a foundation for those with little or no experience of teaching A level biology.

You will meet researchers raising awareness of contemporary biology applications and careers.

This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course. Course fees vary for participants outside the UK. Please contact enquiries@stem.org.uk for more information.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • develop engaging approaches to core topics such as: molecular genetics, plant biology and ecology
  • describe examples of contemporary biology and the vocational routes that biologists take
  • action plan to extend and apply your learning
