Listening for misconceptions

If you tried out the scenario with colleagues or students, please feel free to share what you noticed here. You may wish to share an image of whiteboards or notes made in your activity.

When listening to discussions, we asked you to consider:

  • Use of terminology and accuracy of language.
  • Ideas that appear incorrect and justifications of them.
  • How you might combine the 'best bits' of responses.

Remember, please don't share names or images of those you've worked with.

We hope that this activity has helped you become more attune to the misconceptions that might exist within your own subject knowledge and those of your students.

Please feel free also to post questions about this scenario. We encourage you to respond to each other to support your understanding.
