Professional Registration for Arts Technicians - latest update

Hi everyone,

Did you see the announcement back in November 2016 regarding the Institute for Science, Technology and the Arts' new initiative championing arts and media technicians?

I am pleased to be able to provide you with an update on our work in this area. Please check out our latest blog for news on how this is developing and how you can get involved. I very much hope that all of you will support this work by becoming registered practitioners, and in doing so help to ensure we have the sector involvement needed to drive forward creation of the new register.

There will be further updates and awarding of the first arts based Registered Practitioners (could it be you?!) at the up and coming NNATs event at the University for the Creative Arts in June. We look forward to seeing you all there, be sure to book your free* place straight away.

Kind regards, Katherine.

* places are free for all technicians employed by HEaTED member institutions, non-members are also very welcome to attend at the non-member rate.

Hi Katherine,

Unfortunately I can't make the event in June, will the presentations/notes be made available after the event so can see what was discussed?

cheers Heidi

Hi, Ditto the above please.

Hi Heidi and Lindsay,

Dan Jagger will be coordinating the event for HEaTED and will be attedning on the day. The coodinator usually take notes when they can and collects copies of the various presentations and handouts where applicable. Where permission is granted by the author they can then share them via this group.

We also encourage all attendees at NNATs events to share their thoughts and refelections back in this group for the benefit of those who can't make it and to progress matters between events. Or on twitter via #HEaTEDnetwork, which is great for sharing live pictures from the day.

If there are any questions you would like to be raised at the event please also share them here.

We would encourage as many arts, creative and media technicians as possible to attend in person, NNATs events are free for HEaTED members to attend and we rely on technicians signing up and coming along. Last year's event in Leeds was great and we hope to see even more joining us at UCA on the 23rd June.

Kind regards,

Katherine.
