Creative Cloud Updates

Hey everyone, 

I wanted to get a sense of how many times a year other universities and educational environments have adobe creative cloud updates. We currently have updates once a year during the summer and it does have a big impact on students that also pay for the service. I am finding more students will update even if we stress the backwards compatibility problems relating to this. 

Please let me know your experiences, it will help a great deal.

Hi Nick,

We update over the summer and have same issues as you with students updating even though advise about compatability issues. I wish adobe released in time with the academic calendar!

Howdy,

My Workshop updates as and when needed but I only run a room with 13 pc's in it. The rest of the Uni is just once a year as far as i'm aware.

It is possible to run different version side by side so we can have 2017.2 and 2018 plus as many other version we want. Sometimes this is needed to avoid bugs but also to keep plugin support for older versions etc.

You should be able to choose version's to download from the adobe updater app.

Hi 

Our IT policy is to update once a year in the summer, however this causes the same issues you describe. It would appear that Adobe are going to update in October/November as an annually.

I'm trying to request that a Christmas update to CC would be more appropriate but not sure that this'll be successful.
