We have a full-time, permanent position for a Senior Analytical Chemist in our Environment and Health Theme within the University's Institute for Environment, Health and Societies.
Briefly, the job holder will be -
- involved in research and contract projects requiring the analysis of samples from a variety of sources (e.g. wastewaters, tissues, sediments), and will be expected to deliver this analysis and/or support PhD students/Postdoctoral researchers to do so
- responsible for the safe and efficient running of the laboratories and will be expected to adopt a hands-on approach to ensure equipment and facilities are maintained to a high standard
- experienced in instrument troubleshooting, and instrument repair and maintenance would be an advantage

experienced in the use of one or preferably more of the following techniques:
- Chromatography, e.g. HPLC
- GC/MS and LC/MS/MS
- ICP-OES
- Atomic spectroscopy
