Theme: The focus of this event is professional recognition and registration, CPD and careers for technicians in all disciplines.
Technician professional recognition has finally become a reality with the Science Council's Registered Science Technician (RSciTech) and Registered Scientist (RSci) awards registration scheme (click here for more information), and the Engineering Council's EngTech, ICTTech and REng awards (click here for more information). The professional registers are the response to survey findings that both employers and technicians want better recognition of technical skills, and will be compatible with existing CPD and professional training schemes. It is supported by both the Government and industry.
The registration is awarded by licensed bodies who require you to demonstrate key competencies in a range of scientific and or technical knowledge, competence and commitment to high standards of professionalism. This is a sea of change for the technical profession and it will enable a diverse range of technicians, through membership of a professional body, to gain recognition and professional standing.
We know that there is a lot of information available on Registration, and that it can be quite confusing. So, to aid our members we have produced a downloadable HEaTED's Quick Guide to Professional Registration.
How to book: Complete the booking form on the HEaTED website to confirm your free place.
