Just how big is a big number?

In my blog I wrote about how I seemed to have been bombarded by big numbers recently and have begun to question what makes a big number big. Also what exactly is infinity? To accompany the blog I have compiled this list of resources, Big Numbers, containing resources to aid the teaching of standard form and the concept of infinity. Maybe you would like to reply to this post sharing methods you have used to help students appreciate and deal with big numbers and the concept of infinity.

Some good ideas on Big Numbers but felt that the ideas needed a great deal of rewriting in order to be approachable by my KS3, less motivated students.
