Y5 Space Themed Role-Play Area

At our school we use role-play areas in every year group.  Our role-play area links with our Year 5 learning about 'Space'.  It represents 'mission control' and has information posters, questions for the children to read/answer and QR codes to scan which link to websites and videos.  The hanging planets, posters and question cards are from 'Twinkl'.  The keyboards, monitors, headphones and telephone are unfortunately not connected to NASA as they are old items awaiting disposal.  Our class skeleton, Mr Bones, is almost unrecognisable in his new role as a Cyberman thanks to a lot of bubble wrap and aluminium foil (it was a tough choice between an astronaut and a Cyberman - the availability of a Cyberman 'head' made the decision for us in the end; astronaut helmets are tricky to acquire!).  The fairy lights represent twinkling stars.  The children love it and hopefully it is assisting in fully immersing them in their learning.  Big thanks to our TA for creating such a fab area for us.
