Ready Steady Cook

This  display is of a Y4 Healthy eating and Animals Inc Humans (dental health) topic.   We worked on looking at nutrition, balanced diets and rainbow foods.  Additionally, we also looked at food miles and how this may impact on our environment/ use of pesticides etc.  Dental health- we first designed a set of human teeth using play dough/ looked at animal teeth and then linked this to food chains.  We used teeth health kits from the BDA which included tooth defender posters, packs of toothbrushes and toothpaste and we added many prompt questions for the children to interact with.

Tablecloth- I purchased off Ebay, but you can find tablecloth prints on google images that you could print off on paper.

Everything else was easily drawn/painted etc by my lovely Teaching Assistant!

Children are finally going to be concluding the week with a Ready Steady Cook 'green pepper' and 'red tomato' challenge, linking maths with measures etc to make pizza dough etc. No help from the teachers so its imperative they get it right! Usually one of my favourite 'wow' end stimulus' of the year!
